SCHRIFTELIJKE REACTIE SHEIN
Dinsdag 10 december 2024
As discussed yesterday please find below our statement which is attributable to a SHEIN Spokesperson:
"SHEIN takes product safety very seriously and is committed to offering safe and reliable products to customers. As soon as we were informed of these findings, we immediately acted to remove these two listings from our site while we conduct an investigation, in line with our own safety protocols.
On SHEIN Marketplace, both SHEIN branded products as well as products from a global network of third-party sellers are available. Both our manufacturing suppliers as well as SHEIN Marketplace sellers must comply with the code of conduct that we have put in place in the relevant SHEIN agreements and policies and must also abide by the relevant laws and regulations in the countries we operate in.
Where instances of non-compliance are identified, we will take appropriate action against the sellers of the items involved in accordance with our marketplace policies."
SHEIN works closely with international third-party testing agencies such as Intertek, SGS, BV and TUV, to carry out daily risk-based sampling tests on products to ensure that they meet applicable product safety standards. From the start of 2024 to date, SHEIN has performed more than 920,000 tests, including chemical tests, with these third party agencies, as well as a CNAS-accredited laboratory.
SHEIN endeavors to work closely with local product safety agencies, monitoring changes and developments of product safety compliance laws and regulations, and continuously invests and optimizes our product compliance processes.”
